Ilves defenseman Leo Lööf, 19, has been named to Sweden’s U20 national team for the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship, December 26 – January 5 in Edmonton and Red Deer, Canada.
Leo Lööf joined Ilves in the summer with a one-year contract which includes an option for another year. The defenseman has scored 6 points (3 goals, 3 assists) in 24 Liiga games this season. His plus-minus rating +14 is fourth best in the league. In his nine games for the Swedish U20 national team this season he has two assists.
The left-handed defenseman was drafted 88th overall by the St. Louis Blues in the third round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.
