Ilves players selected to national junior teams

Five young Ilves players have been selected to national junior team tournaments taking place August 26–28.

The Finnish under-20 national team will face Sweden, Czech Republic and Russia in a four-nation tournament that takes place in Hodonin, Czech Republic on August 26–28. Ilves defenseman Karri Aho, 18, and forwards Joona Korhonen, 18, and Jani Nyman, 17, will represent Finland in the tournament. 18-year-old forward Jakub Kos, who was selected in the 2021 NHL draft, is included in the Czech roster.

The Finnish under-17 national team will play three games against Sweden. Finnkampen tournament takes place in Visby, Sweden on August 26–28. The Finnish roster includes Ilves forward Benjamin Rautiainen, 16.

Anni Keisala and Sanni Vanhanen part of Finland’s Women’s World Championship roster

The 2021 IIHF Women’s World Championship will be contested in Calgary, Alberta, from 20 to 31 August. The Finnish roster includes Ilves goaltender Anni Keisala, 24, and forward Sanni Vanhanen, 16, who represented Tappara U15 AAA boys team and Ilves women’s team last season.
