On Thursday, the 23rd of January, right before the game against the season’s leading team Kärpät, several Ilves legends were celebrated in Hakametsä as they were inducted into Ilves Hockey Legends Hall of Fame.

Those honoured at the ceremony were Pentti Isotalo, Lasse Oksanen, Reijo Hakanen, Pekka Leimu, Risto SIltanen, Raimo Helminen and Marianne Ihalainen. The honorees were interviewed during the breaks by Timo Peltomaa and fans got an opportunity for a meet and greet.

The ceremony was also a tribute to those Ilves legends already gone, honoured were Niilo Tammisalo, members of the Tiitola family, Juhani Linkosuo, Aarne Honkavaara, Jarmo Wasama and Jorma Peltonen. The families of the late honorees were there in Hakametsä to accept the tributes.

Honorees and their families were also welcomed as guests to the Ilves Club.

The second pregame tribute ceremony will take place on Saturday, March 7, when Ilves is hosting a home game against HIFK. Ilves warmly welcomes everyone to join the ceremony and the game!
